Keir Surgical Fundraises for Fort McMurray Wildfire Victims

In response to the recent wildfire disaster in Fort McMurray, Alberta which forced more than 90,000 people from their homes in Fort McMurray and surrounding communities, Keir Surgical Ltd., a division of Pacific Surgical, initiated a fundraiser where 100 percent of the proceeds from the sales of specialty prices utility scissors were given to charity.

Keir Surgical is pleased to announce a $1,250 contribution to the Canadian Red Cross for the Alberta Fires Appeal Fund. The funds will be matched by the Canadian government resulting in an overall contribution of $2,500.

“We appreciate our valued customers’ contribution towards the Fort McMurray crisis by purchasing the medical-grade, utility scissors in Alberta blue, wild rose pink, and aurora borealis green” said Patrick Haney, President of Keir Surgical. “We are proud to be a Canadian company working in an industry dominated by foreign corporations. When disaster strikes in Canada, as it did in Fort McMurray, we feel an obligation to do our part to assist the victims and the communities impacted.”

The Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal Fund is available to support long-term community recovery efforts in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas.
